The look, length and shape of all of these portions can vary massively between each model and brands, but every e-cig will have them.
Atomizer
The atomiser is a little wire coil that burns the nicotine liquid to produce vapor. The atomisers are available in a few different styles and threads. The atomizer sometimes need to be replaced. The life span of an atomiser is usually around 6 months, varying on how many cartridges are smoked.
Battery
The battery provides the electric for the atomizer to function. Batteries are generally rechargeable and are available in a few different voltages, with the longest lasting being lithium polymer. They could be manually turned on (using a switch or button) or automatically engaged (engaged when a "toke" is toked on the e cigarette).
Many of the batteries are supplied in a casing that houses the switch, and with a connector for an atomiser.
Cartridge
The cartridge is generally created from string plastic and stores the nicotine liquid. The e-liquid is often held by an absorbent "filler" material such as polyester wool within the cartridge. The electric cigarette's mouthpiece is formed by this piece.
The cartridges are purchasable in several colors and styles to cater for the atomiser which they will be connected. Cartridges may be purchased already filled with e-liquid or empty, however most can be refilled when emptied using a few techniques.
How does it work?
Liquid can be carried into the atomizer by contacts with the innards within the cartridges. The transfer process can often known to as "wicking".
When the power cells are turned on, the small coil of the atomiser warms up and vaporised the liquid, emitting the "smoke-like" vapor that can then be breathed in.
As an electric cigarette has absolutely no burning of material (e.g. tobacco), the dangerous carcinogens of smoking (e.g. Carbon Monoxide) aren't made.
